My background is in education. I have an Honours B.A. in English and History, and a B.Ed., both from the University of Toronto. A 15 year career teaching English Literature and Dramatic Arts at a downtown Toronto high school enriched my life in many significant ways. Working with adolescents, I became sensitive to the challenges we continue to face as adults, expressing our individuality, finding acceptance and taking our rightful place in the context of a larger system, whether it be as partners, in families, in the workplace, in society, and finally as ourselves.

As for my psychotherapy training, I am a graduate of the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy, a three year post graduate program, one of the few training programs recognized by the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. As well, I have additional training in couples therapy and continue to pursue my passion for life-long learning by taking extension courses at the Toronto Psychoanalytic Society and Institute and at the Toronto Institute for Contemporary Psychoanalysis.  I am also a published author of a memoir about the transmission of trauma.

I hold the title of Registered Psychotherapist as per the criteria of the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario--CPRO, as well as being a qualified clinical supervisor. I am a Clinical Member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists--OSRP, an organization dedicated to advancing the principles of psychotherapy and its practice. I have volunteered my time to contribute to the organization and I abide by its strict code of ethics. My commitment is to the well being of my clients. I have been in private practice since 2003.
